Beautiful game."

there once. This small restaurant is in a
mobile home somewhere in northern Mississippi
off of Interstate 59? Or is it 7? Whatever
the interstate may be, Jenny makes the best
hushpuppies 25 cents can buy."

- Meinl
- The new Byzance line are the most musical
cymbals ive ever played. These turkish cymbals
are warm and dark. Try 'em, you'll like 'em.
- Three
Tides Tattoo - I went to
Three Tides while on tour in Japan. Matsuo
did my coy. Afterwards we went for Mongolian
BBQ and beers. Good times, Campai!
- A
Love Supreme (by John Coltrane)
- John Coltrane's
"A Love Supreme" is the heaviest
of all musical recordings. This album recorded
by the "classic quartet" features
the most elegantly powerful of all drummers,
Elvin Jones. Turn the lights low and crank
it. "A Love Supreme" changed the
way I hear music. We are dealing with supremely
spiritual stuff here. Coltrane's music inspires
one to be better.
- Mojo
Magazine - We once had an
A&R guy who was really obnoxious. (Weird,
huh?) Anyhow, the coolest thing this guy ever
did for me was turn me on to Mojo magazine.
This is what you would want all music mags
to be. The folks at Mojo actually write about
music. Each issue is packed with
informative articles, album reviews, tons
of rare photos, and sometimes they even giveaway
a really kickass compilation cd.
- Johnny
Vidacovich - After our last
New Orleans gig I got a chance to hang out
and take a lesson with Johnny. This guy plays
New Orleans funk, jazz, second line, and rock
n roll. Check out Professor Longhair's crawfish
fiesta for a taste of Johnny's New Orleans
groove. As Johnny would say, "es
all in da quatta note!"
