"FAKES" BY FAKE111

For as long as this site has been around, there has been one person in particular that has consistently sent me some of the best live shots of the band I've seen. Sometimes it would be one or two at a time, sometimes dozens. Most of the time they were only half ass labeled, and I just kept keeping them all thinking one day I'd actually get dude to help me categorize these things. That day has come (sort of).

This section of pro-rock.com features the photographic handy work of Steve Truglio, a.k.a. Fake111. If you've been to any shows in the northeast, you've probably seen him popping off shots. I've tried to categorize them as best as possible, but some are bound to fall into that beloved miscellaneous category.

Here's a few words from Steve, followed by samples of his work. Drop him a line at fake111@earthlink.net and tell him how much he rules.

My ravenous ego has been forever nagging me to send the best CLUTCH site on the planet my vast array of images that I've been collecting over the years. But hey, smoke enough pot and you can put off anything for months. And believe me people, this is a mere morsel of everything I have. I have BOXES of stuff on these guys. I finally dragged my ass off the bed, and away from my 1 billionth episode of Law and Order, and dug out a bunch of floppies that were kickin around. It would take weeks to start scanning all the stuff I've shot of them, I'll tackle that task when I get laid off some time in the near future. I never get over the novelty of this though, what started out as a stalker/fan like obsession in the late 90's has turned into a free beer backstage extravaganza that has stretched almost 3 years now into the new millennium!!! And now I even get to work for 'em. I've got 2 record sleeves and 1 cover to my credit. Kinda like if I was like 13, and Black Sabbath would call me and say, "Hey come down to our house and take some pics for our record comin out soon, and then come to any show ya want and drink a shit load of our beer!!!" Imagine?!?!?

So here's a smidgen, a smattering if you will, of some of my best pictures of the band over the last 5-6 years or so. I would be remiss if I didn't get down on my knees and thank GOD (Jack Flanagan) and CLUTCH (as well as all the Lady Bakertons!) for all the warmth, fun, hospitality, and friendship that I have been fortunate to experience. When I say it is rare in this business, I would probably be more accurate to say I know of no other band who has treated me so well. Well I can think of a couple (and Jack manages almost all of them too... coincidence?!?!?), but trust me its really fucking rare. And thanks be to Doug for his coolness and this mother fucking kick ass site! How else would I have known what the fuck Neil's singing about on 05'?
